Available on v2.50.10
With the Network 2.0 rollout, meeting increasingly complex delivery commitments has become more challenging. Routes planned the night before may not hold up due to last-minute pickups, unplanned stops, or extended service times.
PackageRoute’s Optimization 2.0 helps you adjust your route dynamically, ensuring efficient deliveries and time commitment compliance. Our tool allows you to:
-
Select your preferred delivery strategy.
-
Ensure time-sensitive deliveries are met.
-
Adjust for unexpected changes on the fly.
-
Plan deliveries according to shelf placement for easy package retrieval.
-
Maintain control over route optimization settings.
How to Use Route Optimization
Accessing Optimization
You can start optimizing your route from multiple locations in the app:
-
Route → Tools tab → Optimize
-
Route → Stop List → Optimize button (bottom of the screen)
-
Route → Select Stop → Navigate button (prompt for optimization)
-
Route → Map View (Optimization prompt if route is not optimized)
Once optimization is opened, simply press Optimize to start using either the default settings or any custom settings previously applied.
Optimization Strategies
1. Follow Time Windows (Default Strategy)
-
Ensures time commitments are met.
-
Prioritizes time window stops but does not follow DRO or shelf order.
2. 10:30 Time Windows First
-
Prioritizes all stops due by 10:30 AM before any others.
-
Attempts to loosely follow loading order for remaining stops.
3. Follow DRO
-
Delivers non-time window stops in DRO order.
-
Time window stops and pickups are inserted where appropriate.
4. Front to Back
-
Groups stops based on shelf numbers (1000-2500, 3000-4500, etc.).
-
Ensures efficient unloading based on shelf order.
5. Custom Groups
-
Users can manually create stop groups for sequential delivery.
-
Excludes stops with time windows from groups.
Return to DRO Sequence
Should you decide you want to return to the DRO sequence, simply open the stop list and tap on the Order Options filter on the route list, then change the Order By to Order by DRO Sequence.
